The high-speed railway linking Wuhan and Shiyan is about to open to traffic tomorrow (November 29), China Railway Wuhan Group announced.

At the initial stage, 30 pairs of trains will run between the two cities at a speed of 300 km per hour (designed speed is 350 km per hour), with 1hour and 57 minutes for single trip.

With a total length of 399 km, the new railway starts from Xiaogan East Station and ends at Shiyan East Station, going through Yunmeng, Anlu, the Wudang Mountains, and ten other stations in-between.

The opening of the railway will bring a new economic vitality to the cities along it, as they will enjoy easier access to Wuhan. Take tourism, for example. The express railway will connect many famous scenic spots including the Wudang Mountains, Ancient Longzhong and the Yellow Crane Tower. The new rail line will further boost their visitors.
