As the National Day is approaching, the School of Music has participated in aseries of cultural activities, at the invitations of Wuhan Intellectuals Association (Hubei Association of Western Returned Scholars), Hubei Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Party School of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee. Through melodious music, beautiful dances and other artistic forms, the teachers and students expressed their deep feelings and sincere wishes for the motherland.
Representatives of Western returnee scholars and non-party intellectuals of the school were invited to perform in the “Work Together to Write a New Chapter — Concert to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” held at Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall. In the concert, young teachers, Hu Ping, Liu Xi, Gong Baoxun, Li Sijie, Li Shanshan, Liao Yijun and Fan Jie, presented a double-piano performance “My China,” a song and its soundtrack performance “Yearn”, a chorus “I LoveYou, China” and other wonderful programs.

The contemporary dance “Village Beauties are Laughing,” created by young teachers Dong Yong and Song Jiaying, and the song with dance “The Story of the Tujia Ethnic Group,” directed by Wu Li, were performed at the cultural activity “Celebration of National Day in Golden Autumn,” an event held by the Party School of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee. The two works vividly showcase the new look of the countryside in the new era and the happy life of the Tujia ethnic group, allowing the audience to see the brilliant achievements made since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 75 years ago.
The school also orchestrated two Flash Mobs in the East Indoor Hall of Wuhan Railway Station and the square outside Hankou Railway Station. 36 students from the Dance Department dressed in T-shirts printed with “I Love You, China,” accompanied by the familiar melody, presented an audio-visual feast to the audience with full enthusiasm and exquisite skills. Passengers and railway staff passing by the venue joined in the chorus of “My Motherland and Me,” and their love and blessings for the motherland echoed in the hall.（ByMao Lu）
