On September 23rd, a delegation of university students from Oita, Japan, visited Jianghan University with the aim of fostering deeper academicand cultural exchanges.

In addition to the students from both sides, the gathering was graced by the presence of ZHANG Xuan and MA Xiaokang, Deputy Division Chiefs of the Asian Affairs Division from the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee, Zhou Ming, Vice Director of the Education Bureau of Wuhan Economic &Technological Development Zone, Ms. Takami Midori, the leader of the Oita delegation, Mr. Mori Tetsuya, the deputy leader, CHEN Kai, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office at Jianghan University, and HUANG Haiquan, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages.
On behalf of Jianghan University, CHEN Kai extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and provided an in-depth overview of the university’s growth, highlighting its significant strides in academic research and its notable accomplishments in international exchanges and cooperation over recent years. In response, Ms. Takami Midori and Mr. Mori Tetsuya conveyed their sincere appreciation for the hospitable reception from Jianghan University. They went on to share insights into the distinctive cultures and the collaborative university network in Oita, expressing their keen anticipation for future collaborative endeavors with Jianghan University.
Duringthe exchanges, students from both sides engaged in heartfelt and candid face-to-face communications about their educational journeys, personal interests, and career aspirations. The atmosphere was filled with relaxation and joy, punctuated by laughter and applause, reflecting the friendship and mutual understanding that bridged national boundaries among these young scholars. The Japanese students were pleasantly surprised by the Chinese students’ profound grasp of Japanese culture, and in turn, they expressed a strong desire to delve deeper into Chinese culture.

Then, the Japanese guests, accompanied by the faculty and students of Jianghan University, embarked on a tour of the campus’s key facilities, including the teaching buildings, laboratories, library, history museum, and the science and innovation building. They were profoundly impressed by the picturesque campus and the state-of-the-art educational infrastructure. At the university’s history museum, an extensive collection of historical documents and valuable relics offered the Japanese students a vivid and tangible appreciation of the deep cultural legacy of Jianghan University.
