On April 19, Dong Qian, a well-known journalist from China Media Group (CMG), was invited to Wuhan. At Jianghan University (JHU), she shared her new book with 600 faculty members, students, and local readers through candid interactions.

Dong joined the Focus Report program of China Central Television (CCTV) in 1995. She successively served as an interviewer and host for programs including Oriental Stars, News Probe and Face to Face, and participated in the reporting of many major news events in recent years.

"The cherry blossoms at Wuhan University, willow branches by Shahu Lake Park, and warm-hearted Wuhan people – I feel an inseparable bond with this city", Dong emotionally recalled her multiple reporting experiences in Wuhan while discussing journalistic insights, interview techniques, and life philosophies with readers. She demonstrated interview techniques for students researching intangible cultural heritage, planted seeds of journalistic aspirations with a schoolgirl, and exchanged in-depth reading perspectives with middle-aged readers.

"I advise children not to indulge in binge-watching short videos but to engage more in deep reading and systematically acquire new knowledge", Dong told young attendees.

Drawing from three decades of reporting experience and profound interview insights, Dong's new work Every Arrival Bears Significance documents major events from the completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the first flight of the Long March-5 carrier rocket to the convening of the APEC summit, alongside exclusive interviews with notable figures like Jing Haipeng, Wei Jianjun, and Dong Mingzhu, as well as ordinary individuals in public events. Through acute observation and humanistic care, the book explores deep narratives behind these stories, exquisitely depicts the inner world of the interviewees while conveying positive values and life attitudes.

As a highlight of Wuhan Reading Month activities, Dong's thematic sharing session "Reading: Another Way to Reach the World" at JHU provided an spiritual feast, enabling participants to appreciate literature's transformative power in expanding worldviews.
