To strengthen faculty ethics development, guide newly recruited teachers to carry forward the revolutionary heritage, and enhance team cohesion and collaboration, the Faculty Affairs Office of the CPC Jianghan University Committee organized a team-building activity for more than 70 new faculty members on May 15 at the Jiangxia Memorial Hall of Revolutionary Martyrs, under the theme “Carrying Forward the Revolutionary Legacy, Strengthening Team Cohesion.”
In front of the solemn Monument to Martyr Xiang Ying, faculty members lined up in neat formation. Two faculty representatives slowly carried forward a floral basket and laid it at the foot of the monument. All participants then bowed in tribute to honor the heroic feats of the revolutionary martyrs. After that, they renewed their Party membership oath under the bright red Party flag. The resounding oath echoed across the memorial grounds, demonstrating the firm resolve of university teachers in the new era to cultivate talent for the Party and the country.
After the ceremony, the faculty members visited the Jiangxia Memorial Hall of Revolutionary Martyrs. Through faded photographs and precious artifacts, they gained a deeper understanding of the revolutionary martyrs’ struggle in Jiangxia and were profoundly inspired.
The team-building session was marked by enthusiastic participation. Teachers stretched and relaxed in light-hearted activities and broke the ice with the “Flowers Bloom and Wither” game, with laughter filling the venue. A name-recall game helped them build rapport with one another. In the team-forming session, teachers drew on their interests and strengths to create team names and slogans, and one creative and energetic team after another took shape — a showcase of the vitality and sense of responsibility of the university’s new faculty members.
The drone assembly session proved to be the highlight of the event. Working in their teams, members divided up the tasks: some pored over the assembly diagrams, others fitted the parts together, and still others fine-tuned the equipment parameters. Through discussion and brainstorming, they found solutions after repeated attempts. As drones were assembled one after another and took off smoothly, the venue erupted in warm applause and cheers. As one teacher put it, “This was not only a test of our hands-on skills, but also a vivid illustration of teamwork.”
The sharing session was warm and heartfelt. Speaking on behalf of their teams, group leaders reflected on what the day had meant to them. Some said they had drawn inspiration and strength from commemorating the martyrs; others spoke of the sense of achievement that teamwork had brought them; still others pledged to bring that sense of cohesion into their future teaching and research, contributing to Jianghan University’s pursuit of the national “Double First-Class” Initiative and to build itself into a high-level city university.
A senior official of the Faculty Affairs Office presented a trophy to the winning team, encouraging everyone to translate the spirit demonstrated in the activity into motivation for their work and contribute to the university’s development. The teachers said that in their future work they would take the revolutionary martyrs as role models, carry forward the revolutionary legacy, strengthen team cohesion, stay committed to their duties, and, through concrete actions, write a new chapter in building China into an education powerhouse.
