Visiting Leading Enterprises to Boost Employment and Build Competence

Jianghan University Students Experience Wuhan’s Sci-Tech Innovation Dynamism Firsthand

On June 25, the University Youth League Committee organized more than 30 representatives including undergraduates, postgraduate students and counselors from the School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Intelligent Manufacturing and other schools to visit China Information and Communication Technology Group Corporation (CICT), Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC), HGTECH Laser, and the Optics Valley Sky Rail Research & Education Base. The participants experienced firsthand the dynamism of Wuhan’s sci-tech innovation industry and explored high-quality employment opportunities.

During the visit, participants toured corporate exhibition halls and production workshops. They examined independently developed innovations such as optical communications technology, optical fiber preforms and intelligent laser equipment, and experienced the digital management system of Optics Valley Sky Rail. They gained a comprehensive understanding of Wuhan’s leading strengths across the entire optoelectronic information industrial chain and its industry-city integrated development model. On-site staff also gave a briefing on talent policies, explaining preferential talent incentives such as housing subsidies and startup incubation support.

Student participants said that the study tour closely combined classroom learning with industrial practice, helping them clarify their professional focus and career paths, and boosting their confidence to build careers in Wuhan. Accompanying counselors noted that such site visits effectively break down employment information barriers and help align talent training with industry demands.

University officials said that the activity aims to build a bridge between the university and enterprises and deepen industry-education integration. Leveraging Wuhan’s talent recruitment platforms, the university will continue to organize regular enterprise visits to encourage more students to stay and develop their careers in Wuhan and contribute their youthful energy to building a new-era hub for talent and innovation.
