Wuhan receives over 20 million visits during National Day holiday 2019

Wuhan totally received 22.6224 million visitors and brought in tourism income of 12.599 billion yuan through October 1 to 7, increasing by 10.89 percent and 15.43 percent, respectively, Wuhan Culture and Tourism Bureau said on October 7, 2019.
Starting from September 29, a new version of light show was especially staged at both banks of Yangtze River in the city to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The light show attracted visitors of 500,000 people daily to the banks of the Yangtze River in Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang districts, and raised the number of sight-seers who took the cruises on the Yangtze River to 375, 400 in total
In addition, museums, libraries and other cultural institutions in the ciy also organized exhibitions and activities in nearly 140 varieties during the holiday, welcoming a total of 700,000 visitors.
A sample survey shows that visitors' satisfaction with Wuhan is 99.41 percent. On the viral video sharing app Douyin (known internationally as TikTok), the number of short videos presenting Wuhan ranks 7th in China, with 4 billion playbacks, making Wuhan one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
